Netgear Genie can be accessed in two ways. The first method involves accessing it through a web browser whereas the second method involves using the app. The app was called Netgear Genie app for older models. However, newer router models support the refurbished version of the app that is known by the name – Netgear Nighthawk app. Both the app can be used to login and set up the home network. Changes to home network settings can also be made through this app.

How to Login to Netgear Genie App?

To complete Netgear Genie setup using the app, you will have to login and create a Netgear account. Follow the steps you should use to create an account and log in to the Genie app:

• Connect the PC to the WiFi network of the Netgear router.
• Launch the Genie app and tap Create Netgear Account.
• You will see the Account Registration page.
• Fill in the form, accept the Terms and Conditions and tap Next.
• Verify the account with the help of the email sent to your email address.
• Tap Finish and Launch app.
• You are now logged in to the Genie app.

Note: You will not be able to manage the router settings using the Genie app if you are connected to a random network. Therefore, be sure that your mobile phone is connected to the Netgear router network. Cellular data must also be disabled.

Why is Netgear Genie App Not Working?

How to Register Netgear Router Using Genie App?

The Netgear router must be registered at MyNetgear if you want to get the latest information related to the product. Given below are the steps that you should follow to register your Netgear router:

• Launch the Genie app > Enter login details > Tap Sign In.
• On the Local Access Page, enter the admin password of the router.
• Tap Log In.
• The dashboard will appear.
• Select Register product.
• A message will be displayed.
• Select Register and your router will be registered.

Apart from registration, you can also use the app to reboot your router and reset it. Not only this but, you can also assign a new WiFi password through the Wireless Settings tab on the app.
