Netgear Access Point Setup | Configuration
WiFi access points do not need to be introduced today. All they do is get connected to an existing gateway in the house through an Ethernet cable to provide an extended WiFi coverage. Netgear, being a renowned manufacturer of top-notch networking devices keeps rolling out its access points. This page will specifically talk about the setup a.k.a. the configuration process of a Netgear access point. Various access points brought in by Netgear are mentioned below:
- AX5400 Insight Managed WiFi 6 Access Point
- Netgear Dual-Band WiFi 6 Wireless Access Point
- WAX610Y AX1800 WiFi 6 Access Point
- AX3000 Dual-Band Access Point
- AX3600 Multi-Gig WiFi 6 Access Point
These are only 5 WiFi access points. However, if you decide to check out the Netgear library, it is filled with myriad access points. Some of them are manageable through INSIGHT whereas some require the user to access the web-based management panel through the default IP.
How to Set Up and Log in to Netgear Access Point?
Installation of a Netgear Access Point can be done through the INSIGHT CLOUD PORTAL or INSIGHT APP. You also have the option of configuring your Netgear AP as STANDALONE THROUGH WEB.
The first step involved in the setup process requires you to power up the AP. For this, you can use a POE switch for the same. For this, connect the LAN 1 or POE+ port to the POE+ switch. This is to inform you that the POE+ switch will do the task of supplying POWER and INTERNET to the access point. However, be very sure that the POE+ switch is connected to the router/gateway with the help of an Ethernet cable.
Using Insight Cloud Portal/App for AP Setup
Note: If you are using a power adapter to supply electricity to the Netgear access point, you are suggested to hardwire the AP directly to the router/gateway using the LAN1/POE+ port.
