Your extender must have latest security type like AES or more network security. The EX3700 does not support the AES security type. That’s why you are getting these security messages in your device.

Solutions:

There are two fixes for this mentioned problem, have a look below to fix;

1. The Netgear EX3700 extender is an old device, which supports WPA2-PSK and WEP security in network. But, internet devices must connect with AES security. The solution for that is replacing the extender to any other Netgear EX series that support AES like EX7500, 7700 and 8000.
2. Updating the extender can dispel the problem. Update it to the latest version of V1.0.0.98_1.0.63. Let’s see how you can do it manually.

• Access the interface in a browser tab by searching the IP address 192.168.1.250.
• Then, add one more browser tab and search for the Mynetgear portal where you have registered your device.
• Here, select the EX3700 extender and download the latest firmware version in your computer.
• Go back to the interface window and open the Firmware tab, which is under the Advanced settings.
• In this tab, paste the download the Firmware file and click on the Install button.

After installing the firmware, you have to reboot the device. Just turn it off and turn it on for once.
