1. Unbox the Extender and Check Everything

- The power plug
- A small manual or setup card
- Make sure nothing is missing. Keep all the items on a table so you can access them easily.
2. Pick a Good Spot to Plug In the Extender
Where you place your extender matters. A bad spot can lead to weak signals or frequent disconnections. Here are a few simple tips:
- Plug the extender halfway between your router and the weak WiFi area
- Choose an open area
- Keep it away from thick walls, metal objects, or large appliances
- A good location helps your extender spread the signal better.
3. Plug It In and Wait for the Power Light
Now plug the My Wi-Fi Extender into a wall socket. You will see the power light turn on and start blinking. Wait for the light to become stable. This means the extender is ready for setup. If the light does not turn on:
- Try another socket
- Make sure the plug is fitted properly
- Restart it by unplugging and plugging again

4. Connect Your Phone or Laptop to the Extender

- Look for a network name like MyWiFi_EXT, MyWiFi_Setup, or something similar.
- Tap on it to connect
- Some models may ask for a default password, which is usually printed on the extender’s sticker.

5. Open Your Browser and Go to the Setup Page
Now open any browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge) and type the setup address in the address bar. Most My Wi-Fi extenders use one of the following:
- mywi-fiext.net
- 192.168.10.1
- 192.168.0.1
- Press Enter.
- This will take you to the extender’s login page.

6. Login Using the Default Username and Password
Once the login page appears, it will ask for a username and password. Most MyWi-Fi extender models use:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
If this doesn’t work, check the label on your extender. It often has the correct login details printed on it.
Enter the details and tap Login.
After this, you will see the extender dashboard.
7. Scan and Connect to Your Home WiFi Network
Now that you are inside the settings, it’s time to connect the extender to your main WiFi. Do this:
- Go to Wireless Setup or WiFi Setup
- Click on Scan
- You will see a list of available WiFi networks
- Find your home WiFi name (like HomeWiFi, JioFiber, Airtel, BSNL, etc.)
- Tap on it and enter your home WiFi password
- Make sure you enter the correct password. A wrong password will stop the extender from connecting.
- Once done, click Save.
- The extender will now link with your main router.
8. Wait for the Extender to Restart
After saving the settings, the extender may restart automatically. This is normal.
When it restarts, check the lights on the extender. If the connection light turns stable, it means your extender is connected to your router successfully.
9. Connect Your Devices to the Extended Network
Your extender will now create a new extended WiFi network. It may look like:
- HomeWiFi_EXT
- MyWiFi_EXT
- YourWiFiName_2.4G_EXT
- Open the WiFi settings on your phone, laptop, TV, or tablet and connect to this extended network. Use your original WiFi password if required.
- Now you should get stronger signals in the rooms where the WiFi was weak earlier.
10. What If the Setup Page Does Not Open?
This is a common issue and can be fixed easily. Try these solutions:
A. Make sure you are connected to the MyWi-Fi network, not your main WiFi
If you are connected to your home WiFi instead of the MyWi-Fi extender network, the setup page will not open.
B. Use the IP address
Try opening: 192.168.10.1 or 192.168.0.1
C. Restart the extender
Unplug it → wait 10 seconds → plug it back in.
D. Try a different browser
Sometimes Chrome may block it. Try Safari or Firefox.
One of these steps usually fixes the problem.
11. Reset the Extender if Nothing Works
If the extender refuses to connect or login keeps failing, you can reset it back to factory settings.
- Find the small reset button
- Press and hold it for 10 seconds
- Wait for the lights to restart
- After resetting, set it up again like a new device.
